This introductory course is specially designed for artists looking to achieve the very best results in digitally recording their artwork.

Whether you are submitting work for Competitions, Galleries, Exhibition Catalogues, Social Media and the Web, your work needs to stand up to a higher level of scrutiny, and therefore accurate and consistent representation of your artwork is a must in today’s marketplace.

It can be very frustrating and baffling tackling the many difficult technical aspects of copying your artwork. To simplify this process, we have created a workflow, designed specifically for artists; a set of easy to follow steps that is repeatable and ensures consistent high quality and professional results.

Throughout the day you will be guided under the expertise of professional photographers, Sam Nerrie and Kirsty McLaren as you gain confidence in mastering your camera and learning the skill set needed to ensure your artwork stands out from the crowd.

• Improve your camera skills
• Tips and tricks to help align artwork to camera
• Learn techniques for even lighting and avoid glare
• Techniques to achieve perfect exposure and White Balance
• Colour Correction using precision industry standard targets
• Understand Colour Management, File type, Bit-Depth and Colour Space
• Learn image processing skills to correct distortion and enhance colour and tone
• Correctly prepare images for specific output; Prints, Catalogues, Cards or Web
• Streamline export and Social Media workflow and Back up strategies.
This course uses natural light to photograph paintings however if you want to learn how to photograph with studio lights then register with us as we will be running an advanced course in 2018.
